Cement truck overturns on N.C. 74 near Kings Mountain – Shelby Star

The driver of a cement truck lost control of his vehicle Monday on N.C. 74 at the Oak Grove Road exit near Kings Mountain, overturning and spilling cement across the roadway, according to Cleveland County Emergency Management.
Perry Davis, director of emergency management, said the truck was in the westbound lane around 9 a.m. Monday when the driver lost control and overturned, ending up on its side in the Oak Grove exit. A swath of concrete was left in its wake, and Davis said North Carolina Department of Transportation would be cleaning up the mess.
Oak Grove Fire Department, Cleveland County EMS and North Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the wreck. The driver had minor injuries, Davis said.
The exit remained closed as of 10 a.m. while crews clean up the concrete and the westbound lane is down to one lane.
